Bold headline: A-list talent converges for Walk the Blue Fields, with Netflix backing a powerful romantic drama that fans won’t want to miss.
Andrew Scott is set to star opposite Emily Blunt in Walk the Blue Fields, a film adaptation of Claire Keegan’s stirring romance short story. Netflix has joined the project, alongside Compelling Pictures, Element Pictures (a Fremantle Company), and Ledbury Productions. Tom Cullen and Ciarán Hinds have also joined the cast.
John Crowley, fresh from Brooklyn, will direct the project in Ireland, bringing the story to life from a screenplay by renowned playwright and screenwriter Conor McPherson, who holds multiple Tony nominations.
Walk the Blue Fields centers on a bride-to-be who faces a heartbreaking choice as a past love triangle threatens to surface on her wedding day.
Production and financing will be led by Compelling Pictures’ Denis O’Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri, with Blunt producing through Ledbury Productions, and Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe producing through Fremantle Company. Executive producers include Ori Allon, Matthew Gallagher, Dennis Casali, Steven Garcia, John Crowley, Conor McPherson, Claire Keegan, and Edmund Sampson.
Andrew Scott’s recent work includes the Oscar-nominated Blue Moon opposite Ethan Hawke and the latest Knives Out installment, Wake Up Dead Man. He’s also slated to appear in the World War II drama Pressure, the MRC project A Place in Hell, and the film Elsinore.
